"Bright Pink Roses", by Eleanor Erickson Hargrave

"Bright Pink Roses", 12" x 12", Original Watercolor. As many of you know I love flowers so much, roses in particular. Actually, the one I am painting seems to by my favorite at the time. This painting was inspired a few days ago when I went outside to try and find some pretty flowers to paint. My garden isn't up to my usual but I did find this rose bush of happy bright pink flowers. I picked them and put them into my white wicker garden basket and then brought them in and went hunting for the right vase. Lately I have been in the mood for glass canning jars so even this shorter and rounded one looked fine to me for the roses. Canning jars always bring my mind to my own Mother and Grandma. In this case since I bought it later when I had my own children so it reminded me of them too, especially since I had two of them with me at the time. When I found these roses I noticed that the tag was missing (Urggg), but I have a schematic with names and such so that I can update and retag it. For this painting I will name them "Bright Pink Roses". I hope you enjoy and much as I enjoyed painting this in my own impressionistic style. Please feel free to visit my art blog to see some of my other paintings. http://www.elliesartblog.blogspot.com/ If interested you can contact me at arroyoellie@sbcglobal.net Thank you and have a nice summer, Eleanor
