Angel of Hope
This angel is 17 1/2" high and is called Angel of Hope. I have been busy making Angels that I call Angels of Life. These angles are called Angles of life because as you will notice, they appear pregnant. They are the guardians of the new baby, the new relationship, the new marriage, a new career or really anything and everything that is new and becoming. Each has her own unique personality, purpose, and design. They are made from recycled material. The bodies are drawn on foam board or cardboard, and their wings are made from used fabric softener dryer sheets. I cutout the figures, covered them with layers of papier-mâché, lightly sand, gesso, and then paint and design them. Their faces are the last element added because they can’t be known until the end of the process. They are time intensive and truly a labor of love. No two will ever be alike. Soon they will be sold on http://theapostleswife.etsy.com . You can also read more about them and my work on http://theapostleswivesclub.blogspot.com .You can contact me now at paliekara@yahoo.com.
