Can You Blame Me?

Last week was... well, lazy. I think I might even owe some of you an email (and for that, I apologize- as you all know, I usually answer my mail with much more alacrity), but you see, spring really has come to Texas and there's absolutely no season Texas does better. So while there was some of this...

... and despite the fact that this funky old sheet of painted watercolor paper came out of storage wanting me to do something to or with it...

... really, in spite of all of that alluring artsy stuff calling to me from the studio, this is what I mostly did last week...

And this week is shaping up to pretty much more of the same. Can you blame me?

Have you ever heard of Gwen Frostic? I fell in love with her work after reading a feature article in the March 2005 Martha Stewart Living magazine.

The last time we were in the US I was really excited to find a lovely bird-themed
block print Note Card set at Anthropologie. Aren't they enchanting?
I feel inspired to make a four color block print of my own...
